This is pretty random, but a while back you wrote about Kelly-Anne Drummond's death, which you learned about in the Concordia alumni magazine, I believe. I just thought I would let you know I have a blog dedicated to her in case you are interested.

Hope you have a wonderful 2006!

you gotta keep this post at the top, man.
it looks so fly with me flashing the bird and the statue guy rocking out at the top. it's like we're doing some funky call-and-response hand puppetry.

wow rachel,

your blog is amazing.

I am really moved by your posts and by the opportunity you are giving to other people to remember Kelly-Anne. I think it's very brave and honest to be sharing your memories.

I wish I had more pictures of my mom digitized but she never got on well with technology so instead I just have this enormous suitcase full of photographs that I haven't even organized, let alone scanned.

I wish you and your family all the best in the coming year.

mk : you and the guy at the top (who's name is m. flink n'oubliez pas) are together in obscenity - it's a beautiful hand-dance, like shadow puppets only much less intellectual.

Lola totally just did it again, she gets up off the dog bed,and sort of mopes over to the bedroom and lies on my bed.

She absolutely hates hip-hop..

What's odd is that she apparently doesn't hate;

- Journey
- Guns and Roses
- Justin Timberlake
- Led Zeppelin

Any of those would be understandable, I realize they are sort of *ahem* special.

It must be a generational thing. I mean, how old is Lola in dog years? Over 40? That explains the GnR and Zep . . and Justin Timberlake? Maybe she's howling for her wasted youth.

xox al -- laughing enough to produce double chins since 2005.

I am sooooooo cranky (we just hung up now ,I am reading your comment)

Lola is 12 that makes her 84 in human years

the question is...would she be appreciating music from her youth if her youth were counted in human years or in dog years?

If her youth when she was between 2 - 4 years old - in human years which puts her youth at
1996-1998 she would love;

( I had to go look on the internet...)

Mariah Carey - "Always Be My Baby"
Los Del Rio - "Macarena"
Smashing Pumpkins - "1979"
Rolling Stone Critics Poll Rock The Smashing Pumpkins - "1979"
No Doubt - "Don't Speak"
The Prodigy - "Firestarter"
Everything But The Girl - "Missing"

hm... I don't have any of that.

if we are going by dog years Lola the 84 year old probably rocked out to Artie Shaw..

She is presently demonstrating less then no interest in Modest Mouse.

I propose some empirical research (funded by the Institute for Sonoric Caninaphilia -- I will found it).

Artie Shaw vs. the Macarena!

Big Band vs.Smashing Pumpkins!

and finally,

The Polka Kings vs. Mariah Carey!

It's gonna be fun fun fun til the doggy takes the tbone away (sorry that is bad . . . it is in honour of my dad who expresses most of his emotions through 1960's song lyrics . .. )
