on wanting to do nothing

March 27, 2004

Why is it that at some insufferable times it is hard to get off my ass and do anything?

I want to water my plants, and slowly put up a poster of a bull-fighter , taking the time to make sure the placement is just so, I want to not feel guilty about not wanting to do anything for a while.

mes regles

March 26, 2004

This morning was really warm out. I woke up all pissed off, and read about anti-trust lawsuits - which also pissed me off.

And then I went downstairs to borrow cat food from the neighbour and did a little dance for joy because it was over 5 degrees - really nice and pleasant. and then the other neighbour came out and she did the same dance for joy

Ohp, the dude I have been waiting meet for over an hour just arrived I have to go.

Addendum to the strontium

March 23, 2004

It is now a quarter to midnight and one question of my homework, in fact, deals directly with Stronium itself... go figure.

F__ing strontium. I have a half-life. What the hell am I doing sitting here all alone doing algebra anyways, talking to my blog?

Here kids try it at home :

"The half life of strontium-90 is 28 years. How long will it take a 50mg sample to decay to a mass of 32mg?"

Knock yerselves out.

The half-life of Strontium

So there's this sidebar in my math text-book that which says, "Half-lives of radioactive elements vary from very long to very short. Here are some examples"

It goes on to list :

Thorium - 232 : 14.5 billion years
Uranium -235 : 4.5 billion years
Plutonium-239 : 24,360 years
etc...

Lucky for superman Krypton-91 has a half life of only 10 seconds.
