winningest

October 25, 2004

The only reason I am adding this to printmaking is because I am sitting in the window of a gallery on the main babysitting a show (which I am in - but, it's an old peice so I don't feel much like showing off).

This morning I had my first interesting conversation about art in a long time and it was really refreshing and nice to be trading ideas with somebody knowledgeable and up to date about contemproary plastic arts in montreal.

The fellow I was speaking to is Anthony Collins, he is opening a gallery this week in Westmount to showcase contemproary artists to an international audience. (Although I doubt putting on the showroom in Westmount was simple chance)

He is a really big fan of my dear friend Laurens work which makes me pleased as punch. She has spent too long getting really good at what she does and getting not enough recognition. So I hope (even though - of course I was a little jealous) I hope he takes her on as a client and she sells like griddle cakes on frosty autumn morning.

10 and counting

October 24, 2004

I promised myself I would axe theflink and re-do everything in textpattern as of my 100th entry. That is looking less likely since I probably won't have time for an overhaul for another two months.

Too bad, I like round numbers.

Before I get into it. http://www.worldchanging.com
a blog that combines two of my favorite subjects, environmental action/ecology and technology.

At the bottom there's an interview with the woman who wrote biomimicry. Near the top an interview with artist-engineer Natalie Jeremijenko who has, among other things, created parablic deflectors to protect key members of protest actions at the republican convention from getting hurt/sidelined by sonic weapons used by the NYPD. She also made feral robot dogs for sniffing out chemical spills (and beating up on the dogs used to sniff out dope on flights back from amsterdam sa well, I imagine.)

Sigh.. my heart goes pitter-pat (and my mind says what the F__ are you doing in B school!!??)

Hello Francois and hello Kevin serupticious (spelling?) reader of my blog.

We welcome your thoughts and opinions. Kevin make a comment and a link to your site I want to see it.

Too tired, big math exam tomorrrow (sunday wtf?) at 10 am. the last time I took a math exam I swore to myself I would never do it again. WHY am I doing it again.

I must be brain damaged.

I am in the midst of a very interesting cultural exchange with two new friends from B school . Bing and Hueyni, who are both in the process of becoming Canadian citizens, or at least thinking about it.

Bing was helping me with math today, and very aptly remarked when I arrived an hour late that I was "too lazy" I've been called lazy before but this was the first time someone posited that I had broken some lazy record.

Pharoah wants to be my friend

October 20, 2004

I joined friendster the other day because I was tired of ned sending me requests once every other year.

I know that makes me an oldster that it took me so long...

Anyways, today i recieved a message saying that pharoah wants to be my friend which was curious because I am not the type to attract instant admirers I am more of an acquired taste I imagine.

So I logged on and it turns out pharoah is a mouth peice for the orchid nightclub, to which I have a vip pass should I care to give Pharoah my name and a list of my personal own personal veeps.

This marks the first time any night club has ever done anything but turn up their nose at my dirty sneakered short haired bad pants-ed self. I am happy that the internet somehow projects an image of me as someone who could maybe go to a st laurent booty shack and have a good time.

I went and checked out pharoahs page and the photo gallery is a bunch of buxom inebriated lasses. Maybe word of my drinking habits and/or bra size got out.

okay I gotta go, I gotta phone call

collectivity a beta version

http://i.never.nu/article/2209/workclubb

Two nice posts on I never nu this week-ish (where are the dates...? )

The first is about setting up professional networks for freelancers. The second about a workclub for travailllers autonome who work alone too much - I can certainly relate to that issue, kind of a social centre witha cafe etc...

I think the two ideas should be collapsed into one larger idea, which is based on the guild concept
